It’s difficult because there were internal issues that affected my, ability to communicate and change the dynamics of my relationship with owner, but newer owner did stay and continues to stay in communication with me on project for all post construction issues, and is great at handling them, very professionally!

If you could improve 2 things about us, what would they be, and how would you change them?
The only thing is documentation that contractor and sub-contractors use for specific details. Create a binder with all the specific details (drawings, material, orientation, colors, etc.).
What are the 2 things that annoy you the most when dealing with businesses in our industry?
Not having a General Contracting License and accountability for poor sub-contractor work.

Highly likely and have already referred you to a friend.

What are the three major reasons you buy from us and not somebody else?
Attention to detail for each portion of project, including impact on other portions and work to be done – i.e. coordination of subcontractors and scheduling for dependent sub projects.
Detailed estimates including documentation of unknowns and possible exceptions or additional expenses that may come up
Proper supervision and follow-up of subcontractors and quality of work done.
Which one is most important?
Hard to pick, but for this project which was both remediation of previous work and finished a job that was already costly due to previous contractor.
The estimating and costing was critical due to budget crunch – helped tremendously with making decisions, etc.
What is the point of difference that makes you choose us first?
Care for the entire project and the details of each step, focus on getting the job done as envisioned by the customer – which meant a lot of time was spent discussing details and pros and cons to avoid issues and surprises.
If you could improve 2 things about us, what would they be, and how would you change them?
Only one thing – documentation on specs on parts of project. A couple of minor issues came up:
Wainscot in bathrooms should have been full 48” not 40”.
Corners of collum wrapped in slate – would have preferred rough stone edges without Schluter type trim – wasn’t discussed ahead of time.
Due to chaos of remediating and finishing a disaster project coming into the mess, this is not a lot of things, and neither was critical. So really just having a spreadsheet or punch list that is handy and kept up to date for details like the above.
What are the 2 things that annoy you the most when dealing with businesses in our industry?
Poor planning and unknown costs and procedures.

I would say the recommendation was the most important as we didn’t have any familiarity with contractors in the Florida market.

Responsiveness and understanding what we were trying to accomplish with our construction project.
If you could improve 2 things about us, what would they be, and how would you change them?
Communication surrounding pricing differentials between budgets and final decisions we made. Part of this was our own issue as we didn’t ask questions about whether our final selections were within the budget forecasts. My only suggestion for changing this would be for more communication throughout the project, which I understand can be challenging with all the moving parts.
What are the 2 things that annoy you the most when dealing with businesses in our industry?
Delays.

What would be your rating of us from 1 – 10, with 10 being the best?
I would give you a 9, especially considering the abrupt change that occurred with the previous owner’s departure. You stepped in as the primary contact and regrouped very quickly. Our house looks fabulous! Thank you so much!

Friendly connection and attention to detail and referrals talked about how much they cared about the project and the client as friends.
Willing to help us when everyone else was busy.
Fair in managing expectations and pricing.

What is the point of difference that makes you choose us first?
Not easy to pinpoint here as we didn’t have many options to choose from but caring about us is/was important.
If you could improve 2 things about us, what would they be, and how would you change them?
More accurate pricing guidelines for budget purposes. For example, our cabinetry was budgeted at about $25K and we were taken to their cabinetry partner. Our final price was around $42K.

9 – nobody is a 10…..other than Bo Derek.
What are the three major reasons you buy from us and not somebody else?
I found Carol to be very responsive, professional, and honest. She understood my
situation and was empathetic and helpful in figuring out a solution. She was also willing to take on my project and bring it to completion.
Which one is most important?
What’s most important to me is that I feel I can trust Carol. This impression came primarily from her honesty, candor, and responsiveness to communication.
What is the point of difference that makes you choose us first?
What I said above. Many contractors I have worked with are not effective communicators, and I often have the feeling they aren’t fully transparent with me. Carol gives the opposite impression.
If you could improve 2 things about us, what would they be, and how would you change them?
I really can’t think of anything at this point.
